Located on the second level of Wheelock Place, Uya is popular amongst the locals and some tourists. Renowned for its freshly prepared eel bento set, the restaurant is constantly buzzing with diners.
The restaurant has a cosy dining interior that allows diners to enjoy their meals comfortably. For diners who come alone, there is a beautiful ‘bar’ table with a nice tree in the middle.
The eel or Unagi was very tender and freshly prepared. The broth made of kelp was delist. The rice portion was just nice.

For diners who are not into unagi can have tempura. The fried prawns were so fresh that they were crispy when eaten. Interestingly, unlike most Japanese restaurants, the tempura set served that Uya did not come with a sauce. You practically eating it on its own. I find it delish.
